Christmas is fast approaching. You’ve probably eaten way too many pigs in blankets already and had your fair share of festive treats. There is a high chance that your body has already been in a sugar coma a couple of times so far and it’s only going to get worse as we pass into the new year. A lot of people say to themselves that they want to lose weight after Christmas and they also want to tone up as well, but it’s important to do it healthily.


When you eat breakfast in the morning, you’ll find that this revs up your metabolism and if you skip breakfast then you are much more likely to eat calories later on in the day. A study showed that those who lost weight and kept it off for 5 years or more, all ate breakfast in the morning. It’s important that you don’t indulge in pop tarts and sugar doughnuts though, and instead try and go for whole grain, eggs, salad and even cereal. Just make sure that the cereal you eat isn’t packed full of sugar. If you can’t eat breakfast then try and start your day with a fat burner from as this will kickstart your metabolism early-on.

Don’t Calorie Count

A lot of people make the mistake of counting calories when they try and lose weight. This puts a number on everything and it can really cause you to pile the weight back on as well. As long as you are eating a meal that is fat-free and sugar-free, you can eat anything you want. If you have a meal full of sugar then this won’t satisfy you as much when compared to a meal that is full of lean meats, vegetables and even whole grains as well. This is one of the best ways for you to maintain a healthy weight and it is a great way for you to try and lose weight.

Veggies and Fruit in the Fridge

It helps to have some fruit and vegetables in your fridge that have already been washed. This way they are very easy for you to grab when you are hungry. Hopefully this will help you to avoid that huge chocolate bar that is creeping out of the drawer. You can even throw some of the vegetables in a sandwich box so that you can eat them while you are on the go.

The Plate Method

The plate method is a fantastic way for you to try and make a healthy meal. All you have to do is fill half of your plate with foods that are not starchy. This can include broccoli, asparagus, beans and even peppers. Then fill a quarter of the plate with brown rice, quinoa or even potatoes. The last quarter is for your protein, and this could include roasted fish, chicken without the skin and even lean cuts of meat. Eggs are included under this section and they do contain fat, so it’s a good idea for you to try and limit this wherever possible.

Cutting your weight isn’t hard when you know and understand the food that you eat, and you’d be surprised at how much a small change can make a difference!
