Whether you’ve decided to exercise more because it’s a new year’s resolution, or you’re looking to increase the effectivity of your workouts, now is as good of a time as any to begin a journey to a new you. The problem with exercise is that much alike dieting, the novelty and motivation can soon wear off, and you find yourself back in the same position that you were in before. Unfortunately, there’s no quick fix to suddenly become a fitness fanatic. It takes hard work and dedication. Here’s some great ways to stay on track and vamp up your exercise routines for the better and become a much healthier person.
Try different exercises
One reason that people give up on their exercise routines is because it’s too samey. Going to the gym is a great way of keeping fit, but if it become monotonous you will soon find yourself looking for reasons not to go to the gym. Make sure that you’re constantly trying new exercises so that you’re always excited about what you’re going to be doing the next time that you workout. You will also find that you discover exercises which work better for you and target your problem areas much better.
Keep up your water intake
If you’re dehydrated, your body isn’t going to perform as well as it should when you’re exercising. Make sure that you keep up your water intake so that you can get the most out of your workout. Not only that, your body will recover much faster from your workout than it would if it was dehydrated. It’s understandable that you can easily get bored of drinking water, so why don’t you try flavored watermelon water so that it keeps things interesting for your tastebuds.
Push yourself to new limits
Once you find yourself in a routine of exercising, you can then begin to set yourself targets that you want to hit with your exercise routine. Be sure to push yourself to new limits when you’re exercising to really vamp up the effects of your workouts. For example: if you have been doing a 20 minute cardio on the treadmill, aim for 30 minutes. An extra minute each time will soon get you to where you want to be.
Remember anywhere and anytime
Finally, remember that you can exercise almost anywhere and at anytime too. It doesn’t matter if you’re at work either. You can jog on the spot when you’re standing and do leg, arm and butt exercises when you’re sitting. You could jog with your pram when out walking with the baby, among many other things. Vamp up your exercise routine this year and see how much of a difference it makes!
